Customer - Entity that will be billed
for the load / job. A single customer may have many delivery
locations.
Driver - Entity that will be executing
the delivery. A driver may be an individual or a company.
Examples: Joe Smith, Express Delivery Inc., etc.
Equipment - Tractor, Trailer or other
unit used to deliver a load.
Load - A billable unit consisting of a
customer and one or more locations (stops). A load may also be
referred to as a 'job'.
Location - Any physical place at which a
vehicle will stop. Examples: customer site, post office, home
terminal, relay point, trailer yard, shop, etc.
Rotation - A schedule of drivers
assigned to execute static loads. A rotation is also referred to
as a 'static project'.
Route - A unit assigned to a driver that
consists of an origin, a destination and one or more locations
(stops).
Stage - A grouping of locations (stops)
within a load. A load may consist of more than one stage.
Static Load - A load that runs
consistently on a set schedule. A static load is also referred to
as a 'static job'.
Stop - A location that is part of a
load.
Task - A duty assigned to location
(stop) within a load. Examples: deliver 5 cases of oil, pickup 3
pallets of scrap metal, etc.
