the Data Views to create profiles, examine data and print reports
|

|
|
Purpose & Scope
|
|
LoadTrek users will follow the steps below to access the Data
Views, create profiles to customize the layout, and print the
desired data.
|
|
Procedure
|
Using the top toolbar, left click on the text 'Reports',
then hover the mouse pointer over the text 'Data Views' to
display a list of available topics.
Hover the mouse pointer over the topic (Ex: Driver) to
view the available data views related to the topic (Ex: Active
Drivers).
Left click on the desired data view to display the data.
The data displayed will be organized by the default
profile listed in the header (Ex: By Last Name).
Users can change the data viewed by selecting a different
profile from the pull down list. These profiles can be
customized and are created using step # 9 below.
Data can be manipulated by left clicking on a column
header to sort by that column. Additionally, columns can be
moved by left clicking and dragging the selected column left or
right to a new location.
Users can select the number of columns to print using the
box directly right of the profile name. When printed, the data
view will only print the number of columns selected beginning
from the left margin.
Users can check the 'Allow Grouping' box to alter the way
the data is printed. If the box is selected, any repeat entries
in the first column will print once with subsequent columns
displaying the different data. Example: if
there are 10 drivers with the last name 'Jones' and the first
column is the driver last name, 'Jones' will appear once on the
printed report, with the driver first names listed below in the
second column. For more information on printing data
views see step # 9.
Clicking on the 'Options'
button will allow the user to complete the following tasks:
Print: Displays the data in a form that allows users to
Print to their default printer, Print / Fax the data to a chosen
printer or email a link to the data.
Print Selection: Performs the same functions as 'Print'
with the user selected data.
Export...: Allows users to export the data. A second
window will be displayed below the data view and users can left
click the 'Export' button to select a file name and path for
export.
Save Profile: Saves the current profile.
Save Profile As...: Allows users to save the current
profile as a different profile name to be recalled at a later
time. Users can customize a profile to display the data in a
format that meets their needs and save this profile to be used at
a later time. Example: A driver manager
may sort the driver data view by start date to easily see which
drivers have the most seniority. The driver manager can drag the
start date column next to the driver's name, click on the start
date column header to sort by that column and then click 'Save
Profile As...' and save this profile under the name 'Sorted by
Start Date'. This profile is now saved to the profile
list and can be quickly viewed by all personnel with access to
the data views. Any new driver entries will appear in this data
view and will be displayed according to the saved profile
parameters.
Rename: Allows users to rename the current profile.
Delete Current Profile:
Allows users to delete the current profile.
Using the steps above,
LoadTrek users will be able to customize the data views and print
reports that precisely display the data they need.
