KB-01012

Purpose & Scope

Users will follow the steps below to add a task or a number of tasks to a stop location in a load / job.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the Load Plane

  2. Left click on the desired load / job in the 'Jobs Tree' window to display the stop locations.

  3. Left click on the particular stop location requiring the addition of a task or tasks.

  4. Left click on the button labeled 'Add Task' located in the center of the Load Plane. This will display the 'Task Info' tab within the 'Load Edit Form' window.

  5. The first field to be entered is labeled 'Task Type' and users will begin typing to display the pull-down menu listing all available task types. Example: 'Deliver', 'Return', 'Drop Trailer', etc. Once the desired task type has been chosen, press the 'Tab' key to advance to the next field. Note: task types are entered into the database in the 'Setup' area, see related articles for more information.

  6. The second field to be entered is 'Product ID'. Users will enter the product ID associated with the item assigned to this task, then press the 'Tab' key to proceed.

  7. The next field is labeled 'Unit Type' and refers to the item associated with the task. Users will begin typing in the field to display the pull-down menu and choose the appropriate unit from the list. Example: 'Cases', 'Pallets', 'Roofing Material', etc. Unit types are completely customizable by the user and are entered into the database in the 'Setup' area. After selecting the desired unit type, press the 'Tab' key to continue.

  8. 'Category' is the next filed on the Task info tab. Users will once again begin typing the name or use the pull down menu feature to select the category that best describes the nature of the item to be completed on this task. Example: Dry, Fragile, Hazardous, etc. Users will then press the 'Tab' key to continue. Note: Users will enter information in the 'Planned' column for the next 9 fields. The 'Actual' column will populate with data recived from the onboard keypads.

  9. The next field is labeled 'UPC' and is used to enter the UPC code of the item associated with this task. Users can enter the UPC code or press the 'Tab' key to move to the next field. The UPC field is not a required field and may be left empty.

  10. The next 8 fields are used to enter the 'Quantity', 'Price Each', 'Price Total', 'Length', 'Width', 'Height', 'Volume', and 'Weight' of the item(s) associated with this task. The 'Price Total' and 'Volume' fields will be calculated automatically by the LoadTrek software using the information from the previous fields. Once these fields are completed, press the 'Tab' key to continue.

  11. The 'Description' field is used to enter a description of the item(s) associated with this task. Example: A produce company using LoadTrek may populate the 'Description' field with the words: Apples, Tomatoes, Lettuce, etc. The 'Description' field will be seen by drivers using an onboard device in the delivery vehicle. Press the 'Tab' key to advance to the next field.

  12. The 'Special Instructions' field is used to enter any text related to this particular task that may be necessary information for dispatchers or other personnel. This field is not a required field and may be left empty. After completing the 'Special Instructions' field, users will press the 'Tab' key. The newly entered task will appear in the Jobs Tree window underneath the stop location and display the quantity, unit type and description.

  13. You have successfully added a task to a Load / Job and may continue to add tasks to the same stop location or other stop locations utilizing the steps above.
